Son to a colonial administrator in British Tanzania; Abdur Raheem Green, formerly known as Anthoy Green, hails from the heart of the old English monarchy. He studied in a Catholic Monastery, Gilling Castle and later at Ampleforth College.
Weary of society’s obsession with wealth, and cultural traditions, Abdur Raheem Green journeyed through different religions and philosophies to find a greater goal and meaning in life. His quest finally led him to read the Qur’an, which astounded him with it’s simple message of universal brotherhood of mankind. Qur’an recognizes all human beings as equal and children of Adam who was made from dust. The Qur’an does not prefer a race, colour or culture, but gives importance to obeying the One True Creator. Shaykh Abdur Raheem Green embraced to Islam in 1987 and has been involved in Da’wah work ever since. He calls people to the faith in hope that others will be inspired to righteous actions, and find the same peace which he enjoys today. He continues to lecture at the renowned “Speaker’s Corner” in London’s Hyde Park, Peace TV and at the Islam Channel. He enjoys spending time with his family, mountain biking and skiing.

Love in the 21st century has gone online. With everyone’s personal profile and pictures on facebook, instant messaging and texting, shyness and modesty seem like the thing of the past. Every day is a new love story and a new heartache. There is lots of excitement, drama and then destruction. So what is love? When it is suppose to be beautiful intrinsic feeling that Allah has put in our hearts, then how can it be so short-lived, selfish and painful? Sh. Muhammad Alshareef talks about real love, how it actually happens and how to make it last…. this summer at Journey of Faith.
