Omar Suleiman
Shaykh Omar Suleiman is an American born and educated scholar and social worker. He currently serves as the Imaam of Abu Bakr asSiddique Masjid in New Orleans, Outreach director of ICNA Relief in Louisiana and he is a member of ICNA Shari’ah Council. Shaykh Omar earned his B.A in Islamic
studies and B.A in Accounting with an array of Diplomas and certifications on numerous Islamic Disciplines with emphasis on Jurisprudence (Fiqh) and Dawah.
He also travelled extensively and to study the traditional Islamic sciences from eminent scholars like Shaykh Amr Al Shishany and Shaykh Saleem Ziad of Umm al Qura University, Makkah, Saudi Arabia and Shaykh Tariq ibn Raja of the United Arab Emirates. He teachers also include Dr. Salah As Sawy, Dr. Hatem Al Haj and Shaykh Husam Mubarak.
At present, Shaykh Omar Suleiman is pursuing a Masters degree with emphasis on the “Fiqh of Minorities.” He teaches intensive weekend seminars online with the Shariah Academy. He conducts weekend seminars online in the areas of Aqeedah, Fiqh, Dawah, and Hadeeth and he teaches Tafseer and Seerah courses with the Islamic Learning Foundation. He is equally engaged in vast community work and charity projects.
