Shaykh Said Rageah

Tall, unassuming, and well spoken, Said Rageah is often confused for a basketball player, and can sometimes be found playing basketball with his “boys” at the Abu Huraira Center in which he is the Imam. He often talks to the youth and  counsels them on different issues.

He was born in Somalia, raised in Saudi Arabia, and in the late 80s found his way to North America. He is married and has four girls, two boys, and enjoys spending quality time with his family.

He has a B.A. in Islamic studies and an M.A. in the Shari‘ah. He has had several posts over the years, including (but not limited to): founder of Masjid Huda in Montreal and Masjid Aya in Maryland, advisor for Muslim Youth magazine, and member in the Aqsa Association. He is also the founder of both Muslim magazine and Al Aqsa Association. Furthermore he was a Chaplain  at both the University of Calgary and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT).

After serving as an Imam in Maryland and Calgary, Said moved to Toronto with his family. He is an instructor for the AlMaghrib Institute.
